ASBESTOS AIR-SAMPLING TECHNICIAN
This course has been designed for anyone who performs air sampling
inside an enclosure as required by section 56-17.4.
An Air Sampling Technician must have a valid Air Sampling Technician
certificate and shall have such certificate or a copy thereof in his/her
possession at all times while working on the project.
Purpose:
This 2-day course is for individuals who want to perform environmental
asbestos sampling. The course combines lectures, discussions, and hands-on
workshops.
Course includes the following topics:
· Principles of asbestos abatement procedures and practices
· Personal hygiene
· Decontamination system
· Safety hazards
· Air monitoring
This course has been designed for anyone who performs operations, maintenance
and repair activities of a small scale and short duration which may
disturb asbestos or asbestos material. An Operations & Maintenance
worker shall have a valid Operations & Maintenance certificate and
must have their certificate or a copy of their certificate with them
at all times while working on the project.
This 2-days course (8 hours per day) is designed for in-house custodians
and maintenance staff who may disturb asbestos during normal maintenance
and housekeeping activities. This course meets AHERA and OSHA guidelines
for custodial staff.
